What matters now

There are so many things to accomplish and so little time. The interests of our lives tend to peak and valley like the seasons. So I try to do what matters most today at that moment. Sometimes I miss the mark let’s face it I can be self absorbed. However that’s ok because sometimes I get the chance to make it right (God willing).

Soulmate!

When asked if I've married my soulmate? This is my answer.
I married my soul mate 28 years ago and I still love her to this day.
If you ask me what the secret is, i'll you it starts with the both of you wanting to be in relationship.
A partnership if you will.
If one of the two doesn't want to be in the marriage or relationship, it will not last.
So it takes work, tolerance, patients, compassion, sacrifice and realistic expectations.
Do I become frustrated, angry, disappointed, lonely, impatient.
Yes I experience all of these things It's called the human experience.
I am not perfect, this is living life on life's terms and a being human being. It's all part of being in love.

Gossip

What you say behind someone back isn't what matters. It's the contemptible intention you have for that person. This leads you to be disingenuous, not only with them, but but more importantly with yourself.

Prayer

Daily prayer can be selfish act if we only pray for ourselves and our suffering.

Prayer can be egotistical especially if we are wanting the world to measure up to our way of thinking.

Prayer can be selfless when we pray for others and things beyond our control and expectations.

The best prayers are the ones you hold inside and allow them to become an act of selflessness. It's a prayer weaved with time and heartfelt love and compassion.

YOU go and YOU spend time with others just enjoying their living presence. This prayer is found in the smile that shines through a living heart. It is the true essence of your being. Now go out and live, laugh and love while praying making your life a prayer.

Time well spent.

The less time you spend looking at another's faults the more time you will have to see the good in them. Harboring bitterness towards another only causes you to hate and hate causes you to loose compassion and with the loss of compassion we loose our ability to serve the world around us with passion and love. When we look at others in a way that is lovingly it opens up our inner vision which enables us to become humble. Now with this new vision you can truly begin to love, and I'm not talking about just a feeling but a true desire to act compassionately with those you come into contact with.
