What matters now

There are so many things to accomplish and so little time. The interests of our lives tend to peak and valley like the seasons. So I try to do what matters most today at that moment. Sometimes I miss the mark let’s face it I can be self absorbed. However that’s ok because sometimes I get the chance to make it right (God willing).

Health

Ok here’s the scoop on my surgery. I will go in for post operation blood work and final instructions on what to and not to do on the February 15th. Surgery will take place at Charlton Methodist hospital in DeSoto. I won’t find out what time my surgery will be until post opp. day. Surgery shouldn’t take more than a few hours barring any compactions; it’s a fairly standard procedure. The surgeon stated that I shouldn’t require more than two days in the hospital and most likely I will be released the same day once again barring any unforeseen complications. Up to this point my overall condition hasn’t changed. Although my injury is located in my neck, the disk is fully ruptured and has severely compressed the nerves on the left side of my upper body. This causes me to have pain and some weakness in my left arm, under the left scapula and the rib cage under my left arm. Both my left index and middle fingers are numb and I have a tingling sensation in the ring and pinky fingers. My pain levels vary based on what position I am seated in and what activities I do. I do want to thank everyone for their prayers and concerns. Your caring helps me to keep a positive attitude.
