What matters now

There are so many things to accomplish and so little time. The interests of our lives tend to peak and valley like the seasons. So I try to do what matters most today at that moment. Sometimes I miss the mark let’s face it I can be self absorbed. However that’s ok because sometimes I get the chance to make it right (God willing).

Coffee Shop back story

I wrote this poem while sitting outside of a star bucks while waiting for my wife to get her coffee. I wanted to capture the moment of the events happing around me.

Coffee Shop

There is a woman seated at a table on the other side of the glass.
She’s busy in her thoughts writing on her paper,
methodically concentrating on her work.
She nervously fidgets as she realizes I am casually watching her.
My own mind wonders from person to person
and their unintelligible conversations.
They seem happy.
It is really windy tonight as I sit sipping my cappuccino.
Silently watching the clouds for any sign of thunder.
Hoping for it to rain, but not on me.
Now my eyes light up as I see a familiar face
standing on the other side of the glass
fixing her coffee just right.
She walks toward me and sits down.
We sit in silence knowing what to say.
But only thinking it.
We quietly finish our coffee and get up to go look at books.
And as I discard my trash a raindrop falls as I slowly turn to walk inside.

Wow I can’t believe it has been almost two months since I have posted on my blog sight. There have been a lot of things going on and I have had little time for myself. My life and health is going well. Most of my energy has gone into work, recovery, running and praying for family members that have had health issues. My hopes are always for the best for everyone. I don’t like to see anyone suffer with any type of illness. That’s all I got for now so there by the Grace of God go I.

Peace
